Bartow-Pell Mansion's Gardens of the Night Fundraiser on May 12

The International Garden Club, Inc. will hold its annual spring gala, Gardens of the Night, on Saturday May 12, to support the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum.

The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the Museum's gardens followed by themed dinners in private homes. The dinners will honor famous historic gardens, including: Villa d'Este – Italy, Green Park – England, Winterthur – United States, Parc Guell – Spain, Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Summer Palace – China, Tuileries – France, Wave Hill – United States.
Reservations are requested. Ticket prices range from $135 to $250 per person. For more information, call 718-885-1461 or send an email to info@bpmm.org.

The International Garden Club opened the Bartow-Pell Mansion as a museum in 1946 and continues to curate what is now a fine collection of period furnishings, fine arts, and decorative arts. The site and its structures have been cared for by the IGC through its fundraisers and appeals.

Over the last year the IGC Board and staff have developed a Strategic Plan for 2007-09. It was adopted in February of this year along with this revised mission statement: "As the last remaining 'great country estate' in the Bronx Pelham Bay Park, Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum's mission is to create a vibrant site through the preservation, restoration and interpretation of the property and grounds for the benefit of the public through the New York City metro region and beyond." Proceeds of the Gardens of the Night event will assist in implementation of the Strategic Plan.
